Grad Cards - Simple and Stepped Up

Hello!  Rosemary here today and as the title of my post indicates I have two graduation cards to share today.  One is simple and the other is a little more involved.    I used the fun Watt's Next? Grad stamp set and lots of A Jillian Vance Design dies for both cards.

First up is the simple version of the card.  A friend asked me to make some graduation cards.  I told her that I would make cards that could work for a boy or girl graduate.  I decided to go with a neutral color scheme of light gray, black, white and a little bit of gold.  I die cut light gray cardstock with the largest Stitched Dot rectangle die and adhered it to a white cardstock base.  I then die cut the stitched strip from white cardstock with the largest die from the Sentiment Strips 2.0 die set and adhered it to the card front.   I used the plain and polka dot circle dies to die cut black, gold and white circles.   I stamped the sentiment and the 2020 on the white circle with black ink and then layered all the circles.  I adhered the circle on the card front as show.  I finished off the card by die cutting the little graduation cap from the Spring Birdie die set from black cardstock and adhering it to the sentiment circle.

This stepped up card is going to my friend's son who graduated from high school this year.  The school colors are purple and gold.  To step up the card I embossed the Diagonal Striped cover plate onto white cardstock and then trimmed it down.  I matted the piece with purple cardstock die cut with the largest Rectangle backdrop die and then adhered to a white card base.  I die cut the largest Sentiment Strip die from gold cardstock, the next largest one from purple cardstock and adhered them together.   The strip was then adhered to the card front.  Circles were cut from purple, gold and white cardstock like on the first card.  The sentiment was stamped in purple ink and the 2020 in gold ink.  I layered everything and then added the little graduation cap that I also stepped up by added the gold tassel to the cap.  I love both versions of the card.  Let me know which one you like the best!
