hello fall...

Happy September everyone!  Rosemary here with another fall inspired card.  This one uses the Grand Leaf Trio die set and the Leaves & Petals die set along with the Best of Fall stamp set.

To create my leaves I used a fun technique involving distress oxide inks, glossy cardstock and micro glaze.  I started by applying some distress oxide in peeled paint onto my craft mat, spritzing it with water and then smooshing the cardstock into the ink.  The first layer was allowed to fully dry and then I did the same thing to apply Wild Honey distress ink and then finished up with Fired Brick.  Once the panel was completely dry I used an ink blending tool, one of the little sponges to apply a tiny amount of micro glaze to the panel.   The micro glaze seals the distress oxide inks and then brings out all the layers of color that are applied.  I then diecut the leaves using all the leaves in the Grand Leaf Trio and two leaves from the Leaves & Petals set.  I chose two leaves and then using the little stitch lines that are embossed into the leaves to fold them to create dimension.  Some kraft cardstock was die cut with the large rectangle from the Stitched Dot Rectangle die set and some dark brown woodgrain cardstock was die cut with the second smallest rectangle from the same set.  I determined how I was going to arrange my leaves and then stamped the sentiment using Catherine Pooler's Tiki Torch ink.  The panel was adhered with foam tape to the card base and then I added the woodgrain rectangle.  I then adhered the leaves as you see.  The layout for this card is based on the fun sketch from the team at Fab Friday so I will be adding my card to their link up.
