a fall birthday card...

Hello!  As my blog title indicates I have a fall birthday card to share today.  My inspiration for this card was the sketch from Sunday Stamps and I used one of my favorite A Jillian Vance Design dies sets:  Leaves and Petals.  I also used the beautiful Vintage Flourish cover plate die and a sentiment from the Make a Wish stamp set.

I started by creating an ink blended panel using distress oxide inks in Crackling Campfire, Gathered Twigs, Mustard Seed and Candied Apple.  Once I had the blend I wanted I sprayed some water on the panel and blotted it off.  I then splattered the panel with red and black paints.  Once the panel was dry I die cut all my leaves.  I then used the Vintage Flourish cover plate die to emboss my background panel.  I didn't want the stitching detail that was embossed into the panel so I trimmed that off and adhered my panel to a kraft cardstock base.  I stamped the sentiment on kraft cardstock and die cut it with a label die from the Slimline Essentials die set.  I then arranged the leaves on the panel based on the Sunday Stamps sketch.  I will also be posting this to the Paper Players challenge as my card is a fairly clean and simple birthday card.

I was right, it IS pretty! The coloring and little speckle on your leaves make them look so realistic. Wonderful autumn birthday card, Rosemary

Rosemary those fall leaves are so realistic but I think the coverplate die detail behind really steals the show on your pretty fall card. Thanks for sharing with us over at The Paper Players this week!

Absolutely gorgeous job with those leaves. They look as if you have just picked them off the pile and placed them so artfully on your card! That background is fabulous, too. So glad you shared this with us at the Paper Players this week
