Spring Birdie!

Hello and happy Wednesday everyone!  Rosemary here and I don't have a card to share today, but a spring décor item.  I have had this idea in my head for ages once I got the Spring Birdie die set.  I started picking up some of the items that I needed to complete the project and finally got it done just in time for Easter!

I started my project with a Tim Holtz vignette box that I painted with gesso, a medium brown and then white paint.  Once the box was dry I sanded off some of the white paint.  I also painted a set of Tim Holtz vignette finials white.  All of the papers used to create my project came from the My Mind's Eye paper pad that used for my last two cards.  The papers are so soft and perfect for a spring/Easter décor project!  I created the daffodils using a sheet that had a soft creamy yellow and white plaid pattern.  The Vintage Frame Cover plate die was cut from the piece that has a woodgrain type pattern on it.  I used the interior rectangle on the interior of my vignette box.  The frame was adhered to one die cut from thin chipboard to make it a bit stronger and then adhered to the vignette box.  The finial set was adhered to the top and bottom of the box with hot glue.  The birdhouse was die cut from a pink and white plaid paper, as well as one with a tiny floral print on it.  I also cut the birdhouse from thin chipboard to give it some sturdiness.  Everything was adhered together and then I trimmed down the birdhouse so it would fit inside the box.  I adhered two Legos (yes... Legos!  I have boys and we have tons of them!) inside the box with hot glue and adhered the birdhouse to them.  Another Lego was adhered at the front so that I would have something to adhered the largest daffodil to.   The daffodil die set is very clever and it was easy to put the flowers together.    I die cut the additional piece, put together the bird and then adhered everything to the vignette box.   I really like how my little spring décor piece turned out!
