hug in a mug...

Hello everyone!  Hope you are having a great week.  Can you believe that it is already March? Rosemary here with a spring themed card using the fun Hug in Mug stamp set and several dies from the Spring Birdie die set.

I started my card with a few pretty papers that I had from Moda Scrap.  You can't really see it, but I positioned the mug so that once I cut it out there would be several floral images on the mug.  I used a light green ink to stamp the mug and then trimmed it out.  I die cut another piece of the paper using the largest Stitched Dot Rectangle die and then a green scrap and patterned scrap with the die as well so that they would all match up.  The three pieces were adhered together and then I stamped the sentiment in VersaMark watermark ink, applied white embossing powder and then heat set. I also stamped a portion of the mug on a scrap of the green paper, trimmed it out and then adhered it to the mug with Just Glue It adhesive.  The mug was then adhered with foam tape to the main panel.  Using additional scraps of the patterned papers I die cut the vine pieces and the flowers.  I then adhered all the various pieces with Just Glue It adhesive.  This wasn't my initial vision for my card, but I really like how it turned out!  I think this is a very feminine cards so I'm going to add it to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge.
