peace...

Hello and happy Wednesday everyone!  Rosemary here today.  Do you have all your Christmas cards done?  I think I do except for two special cards that I'm making for my great niece and great nephew.  If you don't have your cards done, I'm sharing a super simple card that would be easy to mass produce.  The card uses largest snowflake from the Delicate Snowflake Trio die set, the Holly & Swirls die set, the Checkerboard cover plate die and a sentiment from the Elegant Christmas set.

This card idea did not end up as it was intended to be.  In fact I had completed the original card and then accidentally ruined it when I added the sentiment.  Ugh!  Back to the drawing board!  I decided to keep the overall concept which was to die cut the Checkerboard cover plate and back it with some cardstock die cut with the largest Stitched Dot rectangle die, as well as keep the center panel.  What changed was instead of having a colored image (which the original one had) I decided to use die cuts and a simple sentiment.  I used some of the Tim Holtz patterned paper that I have made several cards from and die cut the large snowflake from one piece and the holly swirl from the other.  I then layered them together the way you see in the photo.  Some off white cardstock was die cut with a small plain rectangle die and then I arranged my die cut piece on the panel so I could determine where to stamp the sentiment.  In order to tie all the elements together I stamped the sentiment in red ink, then adhered the die cut element.  The smaller panel was popped up on the Checkerboard panel and then everything was adhered to an off white cardstock base.  I finished things off by adding some gold Stickles glitter glue to the little berries on the holly swirl and on the snowflake.   The gold Stickles have a more green look to them so they fit perfectly with the overall color scheme.

What a beautiful card, Rosemary! Wish I could say I'm done making Christmas cards, but when I go to send them I always find a bunch that don't look good enough! Now I'm behind as always--haha!
