Tech Week Day 3 - Merry & Bright

Good morning! Ardyth here with two colourful Christmas cards using some of the goodies from the upcoming release!

How are you enjoying Tech Week so far? It started on Tuesday, so if you haven't seen them, make sure you view previous posts from this week so you can get a look at how we 'Set Designers' are using all the new goodies!

And be sure to check out the other information (including VIP pricing and how to pre-order and get free shipping!) HERE. There's a Rafflecopter giveaway below - be sure to follow the instructions to enter!

My first card uses the new Headline Type alphabet die set (there are matching numbers, too!), the Just BeClaus stamp set and the new Checkerboard coverplate die.

I simply cut the coverplate from white cardstock and used liquid adhesive to attach it to a white card base. Then I used the thinnest die from the previously-released Sentiment Strips die set to create some contrast and draw attention to my colourful sentiment.

I embossed a portion of a Merry & Bright sentiment from the new Just BeClaus set on one end of the strip. I used WOW! Bright White Opaque powder.

I cut the letters for Merry 3 times from white cardstock and stacked them up for some dimension. I blended Catherine Pooler ink on each of them, fading up toward the top.

Then I glued the letters to the black sentiment strip, using the die cut grid in the background to help me keep them straight.

For some sparkle, I coated each letter with Star Dust Stickles.

My second card uses the Checkerboard coverplate but this time I trimmed it to fit on a  4.25x4.25 inch square card for a different look.

I cut 3 trees from the Sweet Gingerbread Add On die set and I trimmed them at different levels to make them 3 different sizes. I used the 'berry' die from the Merry Mistletoe die set to cut 6 little ornaments all at once, from red glitter card stock.

And I used that Headline Type alphabet again to cut my sentiment from the same red glitter cardstock.

I love both of these cards, but the "Joy" card is spectacular. That cover die is great, and the Gingerbread Add On - well those are some super cute trees. Really love how you combined all these great elements to make such a terrific card!
