A Mother's Day card...

Happy May day everyone! Rosemary here on the blog today.  Mother's day will be here in just a week and a half!  Are you ready?  I have been working on a few including the one I'm sharing today. This one features a sentiment from the appropriately named Mother's Day stamp set along with several different A Jillian Vance Design dies.

The starting point for my card was a sketch that I found on a challenge blog I frequent.  I never got a chance to make a card before the challenge ended, but I liked it and decided to use it for my card for today's post. I went with a red, kraft, aqua and white color combo based on patterned papers from my stash.  I used the largest Rectangle Backdrop die and the largest Stitched Dot Rectangle die to create my red background panel and the patterned paper panel that was then cut into three sections.  The sentiment was stamped on off white cardstock with Catherine Pooler Black Jack ink and then colored with Polychromos color pencils.  Need to work on my pencil coloring, but I think it turned out pretty good.  I then die cut the image with one of the smaller rectangles from the Art Deco Frame Backdrop die set.   I die cut my favorite Swirly Vine die from aqua and kraft patterned papers to layer behind the sentiment panel.  After cutting them apart I arranged the pieces on my panel and then layered the sentiment panel on top.
