winter wishes...

Hello and happy new year!  Rosemary here today with a simple little card that could be used as a birthday card or a thinking of you card.  I used the lovely Pine Branches stamp set along with several A Jillian Vance Design dies.

I started my card by creating a mask for the pinecone so that that needles on the pine branch would be behind the cone.  The pinecones in the set are two step.  Meaning there is a solid image and then an image to stamp over the solid one.  For my mask I simply stamped the solid image on masking paper and them trimmed it out.  I determined where I wanted my pinecone to be on the card and then stamped it using a light brown ink for the solid image and a darker brown ink (Catherine Pooler Icing on the Cake) for the second image.  I then adhered the mask and stamped the pine branch.   I then figured out where I wanted to stamp the sentiment (from the Pine Trees set) and stamped it in black ink.  The image was then die cut with a Polka Dot circle die.  A strip of paper with a pine branch pattern on it was die cut with one of the dies from the Sentiment Strips die set and trimmed to fit the panel after it was die cut with the Stitched Dot rectangle die.  The panel and the strip were adhered to a kraft cardstock base and then the circle was adhered with foam tape for some dimension.  I finished off the card I added some Diamond Stickles to the branches and the pinecone.
