masculine birthday...

Hello everyone!! Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas full of lots of joy and cheer!!  I'm stopping in today with a masculine birthday card I made using the Pine Trees and Mini Pines stamp sets.

I wanted to create something with a watercolor look to it using the tree stamps from the Mini Pines stamp set.  So I started by brushing some water on to the rough side of a piece of Ranger watercolor cardstock.  I then inked up the first tree using Ranger distress inks in Iced Spruce and then blending out with more water.  Forest Moss was then layered on top and blended out.  I followed the same steps with the other trees using Iced Spruce and Evergreen Bough for second tree and then Forest Moss for the third tree.  Some Bundled Sage was added in here and there, as well.  The ground was created by brushing on water beneath the trees and then inking up the curvy stamp in the Mini Pines set with Gathered Twigs and stamping.  Then the image was blended out further with more water.  The sun was created using the back side of a round stamp from the Charming Holiday set (no longer available).  I used the same procedure to create the sun as I used with the trees.  Brushed on water, inked up the stamp with Squeezed Lemonade, stamped and blended it out.  To mute the yellow I layered on Old Paper and did some more blending.  Once everything was dry I die cut the panel with a Stitched Dot rectangle die.  The sentiment was stamp (from Pine Trees) on vellum with watermark ink and embossed with copper embossing powder.  The sentiment strip was adhered by placing the adhesive behind the sentiment and then adding a little line of liquid adhesive along portion of stitching where the strip would attach.
