Tidings of Comfort & Joy

Hello everyone!  Are you participating in the Fall/Winter Coffee Lover's blog hop?   There are tons of prizes to be won and A Jillian Vance Design is once, again, a super sponsor for the hop!  I also wanted to let you know that A Jillian Vance Design's Black Friday sale will start on Nov. 20th and runs through Nov 30th.  You can find all the details about the sale in the graphic at the end of this post.   Jillian has lots of new dies available for pre-order and one of them is the sweet Afternoon Tea Die set.  I have used that set, along with a sentiment from Light of Christmas for my card.

Like a lot of you I have older pads of 6x6 Christmas papers that I am trying to use up.  I pulled out papers from several different pads to use for my card.  I had a scrap of the fun polka dot paper in one pad to cut the teacup, pot and plate from and the red and dark green papers from another pad that matched perfectly.   After I diecut the pot, cup and plate I lightly inked the edges with Antique Linen distress ink.  I die cut the dark green and red papers using the largest Stitched Dot rectangle die and then trimmed down the red piece to fit the bottom of the rectangle.  I stamped the sentiments from Light of Christmas in watermark ink and heat embossed with pewter embossing powder.  I adhered the teapot with Just Glue It adhesive and the popped up the cup with foam tape.  I die cut the spoon from silver metallic cardstock and tucked it into the cup.  The little sugar cubes and the steam swirl (I think that is actually supposed to be the string for the tea bag!) were die cut from white glitter cardstock and adhered.   I finished with the little poinsettia that I die cut from patterned paper using the poinsettia die from the Classic Candle die set.   A dot of silver Nuvo drops was added to the center of the flower.
