Happy Owl-o-ween!

Hello and happy Wednesday everyone!  Halloween is just a few days away and so I just had to get a card made using Hootie and the Hootie Halloween Add-ons die sets.  There are so many fun dies in the Hootie Halloween Add-on set, but I decided to make Hootie a little mummy!

I started by creating a night sky background using distress oxide inks in Black Soot, Prize Ribbon, Wilted Violet and Salvaged Patina.  I sprayed on some water and the blotted it off.  Once it was dry I added little dot of white using a paint pen.  I was going for a night sky with stars, but I think it looks more like snow, lol!  Anyway... I forged on.  I stamped the sentiment from Happy OWLoween stamp set in watermark ink and heat embossed in white.  I then added a lot of little sparkly rhinestones to the background.   Then I got to creating my little mummy Hootie and all the other elements.  After die cutting everything I did add some distress ink to the jack-o-lantern treat bag, the black cat and moon to make them a little more matte in appearance.  I added some gray shading with a cool gray Copic marke  to Hootie's mummy wrap, as well as the little cloud.  To create my moon I used the round die from the Rudy & Friends die set and the little cloud came from the Peace, Love and Rainbows slimline die set.

I love pulling dies from other sets to help me create the look I'm going for and Jillian has definitely created lots of die sets that allow you to do that! Now Hootie is already to get out there and get some of that candy!  Happy Owl-o-ween everyone! Going to add this to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge of anything goes.
