hello fall!

Happy first day of fall everyone!  I'm here sharing a card that I inspired by a card that the amazing Nichol Spohr shared on her blog and YouTube channel.   When I saw her card I immediately thought of the Create-a-Card Pumpkin die set and knew I could make my own little pumpkin house!  I used a die from the Sweet Gingerbread Add-on die set that coordinates with the Cozy Cottage Birdhouse die set, along with a die from the Hootie Halloween Add-on die set.   The sentiment is from the Sweet Sunflower stamp set.    A bit of time was involved in creating my little house, but I enjoyed every minute of it!

I started by die cutting my pumpkin from orange cardstock and the stem, door and windows from kraft cardstock.  I wanted to use kraft so I could add more color to the cardstock than I could if I had started with a darker brown.  I then colored the pumpkin with two shades of orange Copic markers.  The stem, door and windows were colored with several shades of brown Copic markers (I think it was three, but I'm not sure... sorry!)  There isn't a window die in the Sweet Gingerbread Add-on die set so I just die cut three doors and then used the bottom edge of the door die to cut off the bottom of two to create my windows.  I colored some white cardstock with two yellow Copic markers and then backed my windows with that.  I popped up the center portion of the pumpkin with foam tape and then added everything else with Just Glue It adhesive.  The small pumpkins are from the Hootie Halloween die set and they were colored with the same Copics as the big pumpkin.  I die cut the little leafy stems from green cardstock and very quickly colored with green Copics.  I then arranged those on the house along with the smaller pumpkins.  I used a sentiment label die from the Slimline Essentials die set for the sentiment.  The sentiment was stamped in green ink on green cardstock and then some additional color was added with green Copic markers.  I thought that was where I was going to stop, but I decided to die cut the small leaves from one of the dies in the Mini Spring Mix die set from red and yellow cardstock.  I added some coloring to those, as well and then adhered them.  I thought they added that finishing touch.  The door handle was created using black Nuvo Crystal drops.   I hope you enjoy my little pumpkin house!

Adorable pumpkin house, Rosemary - very clever use of the birdhouse add-ons! I have used my set already - will come up with a Die Cut Diva post in October :)
