Aloha! Rosemary here on the blog today with a card I made using the new Tropical Hibiscus Layering Flower die set and the Let's Talk Hawaiian stamp set. Both of these products are part of the new release from A Jillian Vance Design.
I'm loving both of these new products! My sister-in-law is Hawaiian and so I am excited to use them to create cards for her! For my card today I decided to do some simple coloring with Copic markers instead of trying to find cardstocks to layer together. I die cut all the pieces and then started by coloring the bottom layer with a single light pink Copic. The second layer was then colored with the same light pink as the bottom layer plus a darker pink and then added in an even darker pink on the third layer. I colored the two final pieces with two shades of yellow. I die cut the palm leaf layers and colored in the same way. The Tropical Hibiscus dies are clever in that there is a tab on each die that help you figure out how to layer them. Love that! I wanted some dimension to my flower so I used my Petal Pusher Stylus and Shaper Mat to add some shape to each layer before adhering them with Just Glue It adhesive. I was going to just adhered the flower to a plain white rectangle, but then remembered that I had this fun tropical patterned paper pack so I found this piece with the black leaf pattern, trimmed a 2"strip and adhered that to my white cardstock before die cutting the piece with a Stitched Dot rectangle die. I adhered the panel to a light gray cardstock base, added the flower and leaf. The sentiment was stamped in black ink, die cut with a label die from the Slimline Essentials die set and popped up on the card using some 3D foam tape.
Thanks for stopping by and have a lovely day!
