sea you later...

Hey there!  Hope you are having a great week so far.  Rosemary here with a card sharing another new die set, as well as a die from the Mini Slim Backdrop die set.   A few years ago Jillian came out with the Anchors Aweigh die set that worked with Simply Said: Anchor stamp set.  She decided to up date the Anchors Aweigh die set and I am using dies from that set on my card.  I also used the You Are My Anchor stamp set.

Recently I have been playing around with alcohol inks and created several backgrounds that I turned into cards.  I had one background that I tried to do the alcohol lift technique with and it didn't work out.  I thought I wouldn't be able to use the background for anything else, but then remembered that it is alcohol ink and if you just add a little blender solution you can create a whole new background!  So I did.  There were spots where the blender solution and additional alcohol ink that I added had pooled and when it was still a little sticky I added bits of silver foil here and there.   You can see there areas of foiling in the photo, but it looks soo pretty in real life.  I die cut the background with a Stitched Dot In and Out Circle die trying to catch as much of the foiling as I could.  I then used the wave dies from the Anchors Aweigh 2.0 die set to my waves from other portions of that background.  I die cut the little sailboat from dark teal and white cardstock, trimmed out just the sail portion on the white die cut and adhered it to the teal boat.  I then adhered the boat to the circle and added the waves.  I embossed the same teal cardstock I used for the boat with a woodgrain embossing folder to give the look of waves.  That was adhered across the white panel that was die cut with one of the Mini Slim Backdrop dies and then I stamped the sentiment in dark teal.  The circle element was added along with the anchor that I die cut from silver cardstock.  To give the card a more finished look I die cut light blue cardstock with the largest rectangle backdrop die, adhered that and then popped up the white panel.  I used the sketch from Fab Friday for my card so I will be adding it to their challenge gallery.
