Bookmarks!

Hey friends!  Rosemary here and as the title of my post indicates I'm sharing bookmarks today.   I have had most of the products I needed to make these bookmarks for sometime now, but have never gotten around to making something until now.  I had been struggling with card ideas so I decided to give myself a break and create something that was a little simpler.   Another reason for making these bookmarks is the fact that I recently got the For I Know the Plans bookmark.  Jeremiah 29:11 is one of my favorite verses and so when Jillian came out with this stamp I had to get it.  I already had the Trust in the Lord bookmark stamp set so I created bookmarks with both stamps.

I started by stamping the verses on white cardstock.  Originally I had stamped the verses in black ink, but for some reason it kept smearing.   The choices of ink were based on the die cuts that are on the back of each bookmark.  Along with the Minnie Pearl Bookmark there are several overlay dies.  I have the Quatrefoil Overlay die.  That was cut from patterned paper.  In the photos it is hard to tell the colors in the patterned papers, but one is yellow and the other pink.  So I used pink and yellow inks to stamp the verses.  I didn't waste the die cut bookmarks where the sentiments smeared, but adhered them behind the ones you see in the photo.  I also die cut plain white bookmarks to adhere to the back for a more finished look.  I then adhered the Quatrefoil Overlays on the back.  The overlays are very delicate so I used spray adhesive which worked perfectly.  Speaking of adhesives Jillian has stocked the store with a line of new adhesives like foam tape, dots and adhesive sheets.  Make sure to check them out!  I love my Just Glue adhesive.  It is super strong!   To finish off the bookmarks I die cut two little tags from patterned paper that was from the same pad that I used for the overlays.  Those were attached to the main bookmark using the bakers twine I looped through the opening in the top.

Here are photos of each bookmark by itself, as well.  Even though this project was fairly simple I really enjoyed making them.  Now I think I need to get the other two overlays, lol!
