wishing you frosty fun...

Hello and happy Wednesday everyone!  Rosemary here with a fun and frosty card today.   We are still in the middle of winter and here in the Pacific Northwest where I live we got that reminder over the weekend.   Lots and lots of snow!  Thankfully what typically happens is we have about 2 days of snow and then the rain returns!  As I was making the card I'm sharing today it had started snowing and so I thought it appropriate to create a card with a snowman on it!  I hadn't used the updated Sam E. Snowman die set and so I busted it out to create my card, lol!

I had been going through my sequins when I spotted a mix that had little snowflakes in it and that prompted me to make Sam a shaker.   When Jillian designed Sam she gave you the ability to turn his belly into a shaker element with ease!  I die cut Sam twice from white cardstock and then used the circle die to cut out the window in one.  To make sure my acetate window was large enough I actually used the bottom portion of Sam to cut it and then adhered it behind the window.  I added thin strips of  foam adhesive around the window and the rest of Sam.  I carefully placed the sequin mix in the center and added the backing snowman.   I then added his hat, scarf and arms that I die cut from black glitter cardstock.  His nose was die cut from orange glitter cardstock and I added a small white glitter snowflake to his hat.   To make my frame I used the two largest Stitched Dot rectangle dies.  I taped them together so I could die cut the frame from white cardstock and then scrap white cardstock so that they would all match up perfectly.  I then die cut some patterned paper with a wintry scene from the largest Stitched Dot rectangle and adhered it to the frame.  The Bold Snowflake was trimmed down and fit inside the frame.   The sentiment is from the Frosty Friends set and was heat embossed in silver on vellum, die cut with a die from the Stitched Sentiment Quartet and adhered inside the frame.  I then adhered Sam to finish off the card.   I'm going to add this to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge to use a favorite technique.  I  do love to make shaker cards!
