merry and bright...

Hello and happy Wednesday everyone!  Rosemary here today with a sparkly card that I made with the Classic Candle die set and a sentiment from the beautiful Light of Christmas stamp set.  The Light of Christmas set has messages for Hanukkah, as well as sentiments that can be used at other times of the year.  Don't you love stamp sets that can be used for many occasions?  I know do!

So originally I was going to post a completely different card (where have you heard that one before, lol!) that I had created using some poinsettias that I had made when I created and shared a slimline card.   The card was fully completed and ready to be blogged when I spied the inspiration photo at the Card Concept challenge.  The candles in the photos made me think of the Classic Candle die set and I just had to make this card!  I used a new background stamp called Paisley Plume to create the pattern on the candles.  The image was stamped with VersaFine CLAIR Nocturne ink on cream cardstock.  I die cut the candles and the wax dip and then lightly inked everything with Scattered Straw distress ink.  The middle candle and the two other wax drips were die cut from black glitter cardstock.  I trimmed down the stamped candles so there would be variation in height and adhered the wax drips.  The flames were die cut from gold glitter paper, as well as a poinsettia.  I die cut off white cardstock and then lightly inked the piece with Scattered Straw to create a glow for the candles.  The candles were then adhered to the panel.  I die cut the greenery from black cardstock and layered that one finishing with the little gold poinsettia.  For the center of the poinsettia I added a drop of Nuvo Crystal Drops in black.   The sentiment was stamp with the Nocturne ink in the upper corner prior to adhering all the candles, etc. to the panel.   A rather striking card, don't you think?  My card would fall into the clean and layered category.

Beautifully designed card, Rosemary! Love the pattern on cream for the candles & all the sparkle! Really steps it up to add the soft inking behind the flames!
