Hello! Happy day before New Years Eve! Rosemary here today. Are you ready to say goodbye to 2020? I think most of us are, lol! Here's to hoping that 2021 will be much better! And since it is the day before New Years eve I decided to share a card to celebrate the day. I used the new Happy New Year stamp set, as well as the Headline Numbers die set for the card.
I decided that I wanted to create a night sky so I cut a piece of smooth bristol cardstock down to just a little bit bigger than the smaller of the two layering dies from the Slimline Essentials die set. I stamped the starburst image across the panel using Versamark watermark ink and then heat embossed in white. I then inked up the panel with Faded Jeans, Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot distress oxide inks. I went heavier with the Faded Jeans and Chipped Sapphire than I did with the Black Soot. Honestly... I think I ended up die cuttting off most of the Black Soot! Once I was done I dried the panel with my heat tool and buffed off the excess ink from the panel. To create even more interest in my sky I splattered the panel with white and black paint. I then die cut the panel and added Nuvo Glitter drops in White Blizzard around the panel. The letter were die cut from silver glitter paper. The trickiest part of the card was getting the numbers centered. I really need to get a T-square ruler! Once I got that done I die cut a strip of vellum with the second thinest die from the Sentiments Strips 2.0 die set and then stamped it with the sentiment using VersaMark watermark ink and heat set in black. I trimmed the sentiment strip down and adhered it to the panel. Black cardstock was die cut with the largest die from the Slimline Essentials set and adhered that to my cardstock base. I then added the main panel using foam tape. After I had the card fully assembled I decided to add some little silver sequins, but not too many as I didn't want to go too over the top! Adding this to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge of sparkle and shine.
