Hello and welcome to September! Yep... it is already September! How did that happen? Rosemary here and I have a fun sparkly card to share today. Ever since I got the Peace, Love & Rainbows Slimline Circle Window die set I have wanted to make something using that super cute little rainbow! Finally got that card made! I also used the Horizontal Pinstripe cover plate die and the Mini Headline Type and Numbers die set.
I have had this particular idea in my head for quite sometime, but wasn't sure how I was going to execute it. I wasn't sure if I was going to use my slimline dies or something else. A few days ago I got to thinking about those fun reader boards that have been around for awhile now and decided to go in that direction since I had the Horizontal Pinstripe cover plate die. I die cut the Horizontal Pinstripe die once from a heavy white cardstock and then twice from a lighter weight white cardstock. All three were adhered with the heavy white piece on top. I then adhered the piece to a light gray cardstock base. I created the rainbows by simply diecutting them from white cardstock, keeping all the pieces together with tape and then coloring with Copic markers. Once I had all the rainbows colored I applied a coating of Multi Matte Medium to each one and covered them with Ranger distress glitter in Rock Candy. I did the same thing with the clouds. Once the rainbows were finished I thought about how much they looked like those sugared jelly fruit slices! I thought about die cutting the letters from red glitter cardstock, but decided that the card was already pretty bright so I went with black glitter cardstock. I fiddled around with the arrangement of all the pieces and then took a photo when I had it to my liking so I would know where everything went. I adhered the rainbows and clouds and then the sentiment. I love how fun, bright and happy this card is!
