it's your birthday...

Hello and happy Wednesday!   Rosemary here on the blog today.   Yesterday was all about coffee, but today is about cupcakes!  I finally got the cute Hey Cupcake stamp set and I paired it up with lots of AJVD dies including the new Stitch Dot In and Out Circle backdrop die set.

I knew I had some pieces of patterned paper with a birthday theme... I just didn't know how little those pieces were, lol!  Fortunately I had enough to create the elements I needed for my card layout!  I really like the new Stitched Dot In and Out circle dies because if you plan things out you can have the negative space with a nice little stitched dot outline, as well as the circle with the stitched dot element.  I used two of the Sentiment Strips dies for the strip element on the card and a trusty Stitch Dot rectangle die, as well.  I layered up the rectangle and the strips on an off white cardstock base.  I stamped the cupcake from the Hey Cupcake stamp set on Copic friendly cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and the colored it with Copic markers.  I managed to come up with color combos that toned really nicely with colors in the patterned paper.  I trimmed out the cupcake, popped it up on the circle and then popped that element up on the card front.  I added some Glossy Accents to the cherry.   The sentiment was stamped on a Sentiment Strip die cut from the same off white cardstock with VersaFine CLAIR Nocturne ink and then adhered to the card.   Adding this to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge of anything goes.

Great patterns, Rosemary, and I love your cupcake on the stitched circle atop the layered strips! I find coloring frosting so difficult but really liked how you did yours!!
