dotted butterfly...

Hello and happy Wednesday!  Rosemary here and today I decided to share a card that is not a slimline design.  I could have made this design using some of the slimline dies, but decided to go with a regular A2 sized design.   This card features the beautiful Bold Butterfly stamp set.

I don't watch a lot of videos, but there are a couple of crafters out there who I do watch on a somewhat regular basis.  One of those people is Jennifer McGuire.  Recently I watched a video that she did on dot coloring.  I was so intrigued by the idea that I decided to give it a try.  I practiced the technique a little before creating my card.  I need to work on the technique a little more, but I do like how things turned out.  Originally I wasn't going to do the technique on the butterfly, but decided when I did some practicing that I liked how adding it to the butterfly looked.  I used four shades of blue Copics for the butterfly and four shades of green Copics for outside the butterfly.   I stamped the butterfly using VersaFine CLAIR Nocturne ink which was actually a mistake because I was not able to do part of the technique due to the fact that the VersaFine CLAIR line of inks are not Copic safe.  I was just really careful as I made my dots around and inside the butterfly.  Once I was done and satisfied I die cut the butterfly with the largest Stitched Dot rectangle die and then added a sentiment from the Bold Butterfly stamp set in the corner.

Wow--your first try of the technique turned out great, Rosemary! Beautiful card! I did it once a long time ago for a challenge & now I think I'll watch the video & try it again!
