Thanks...you're so sweet!

Hi, y'all! Shelly, here.
Happy Friday!!

Today, I'm sharing a fun slimline card with you.

Sweet, yeah?!...I started with making the 'shaker' for my card. I used the new circle window cover plate, placed acetate over the circles and then added foam tape around the edges. After I filled up the shaker with all sorts of fun goodies. Then added on a piece of cardstock to the back, to close things off. Pretty simple, right?!...To finish things off, I used the largest slimline rectangle die for my card base and then added my shaker on top of it. Once done, I used the pear die and did some simple ink blending with a few different inks. Then added it to my card, along with 'thanks' that I used a couple different purple cardstocks for and white cardstock underneath. Then a 'you're so sweet' sentiment on a banner. Fun, yeah?!...

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Enjoy your day!

let's shellabrate!

Hello everyone!  Well... July is just a couple of days away from being over!  Crazy how fast time is flying by!  Rosemary here with another slimline card.  Seriously... I cannot stop making slimline cards now that A Jillian Vance Design has this amazing slimline die collection!   My mind has been full of all kinds of ideas for creating cards with other dies from the AJVD collection.  For this card I pulled out the Sea Shells & Mermaid Tail die collection as well as the Shell Yeah! stamp set to create a fun sea theme card.

A few months ago I created some some alcohol ink backgrounds.  One was created using some pearl alcohol inks and that is the one I used for my card.  I die cut the tail and shells from the paper and then used the smallest mistletoe die from the Merry Mistletoe die set to cut my kelp.   I then went through my collection of 12x12 cardstock and found two pieces that worked really well with colors from the alcohol ink die cuts.  I die cut the Peace, Love & Rainbows Slimline Circle Window cover plate die from a light blue cardstock.   The Slimline Signature Polka Dot cover plate die was cut from a darker blue.  I then used the same light blue cardstock to back the polka dot cover plate die and adhered them to a white cardstock base.  I adhered all the die cuts to the circle window cover plate die with Just Glue It adhesive.   I stamped the sentiment from Shell Yeah! on vellum using WOW Ebony embossing powder, trimmed it down to a strip and wrapped it around the top piece.  I then adhered the piece to the card front using foam tape.  I just love how fun and bright this card is!  Going to add this to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge of anything goes.

Peace, Love and Rainbows Slimline Die Set

Hello all!  Lisa here and I'm using another one of the awesome new slimline dies today for a little rainbow action!

I started by die cutting the frame from the Peace, Love and Rainbows set from white cardstock.  Then I cut a rectangle a bit smaller than the frame in white but large enough to fill the circular windows and created a rainbow cloud background.  Then attached that to the white base and popped the frame up over it.

I die cut each of the icons from the Peace, Love and Rainbow set from Copic friendly paper and colored them with Copic markers in colors that coordinated with the windows they would end up in.  I also stamped, colored and cut out some of the small daisies from the Dear Daisy stamp set and added all of my pieces with foam tape.

Finally I cut the Hello from glitter paper once and then two more from white cardstock and stacked them together and glued the sentiment in place.  Just a few sequins scattered around and I was done!

Thanks so much for stopping by today and hope you enjoyed your visit!  Come again soon for more A Jillian Vance Design inspiration!

Be Merry!

You know when you have a plan for your card and it all goes wrong? No? You're lucky! lol! It happens to me all the time! Ardyth here with a fun Christmas card that started with a plan....

I had to adapt my plan a few times as I worked through it, to finally end up with this fun, happy Christmas card!

I started by creating negative masks for the Christmas Light Bulbs and blending inks through, leaving a big white highlight on each one, to give dimension and shine.

Then I used the positive masks on the lights so I could add a dark background.

Then I realized that all the light socket-ends (what are those really called?!) were blended with the same colours of inks, so I tried not 1, not 2, but 3 ways to make them silver before I finally finished.

And that sentiment strip? Want to know what it's hiding? (*spoiler alert* - camouflage is a perfectly valid rescue strategy! LOL!)

Here's a video showing how I rescued this card:
