Hello and happy Wednesday everyone! Rosemary here with a couple of Christmas cards that I made with the new Vintage Flourish cover plate die and sentiments from the Just beCLAUS stamp set.
Today's cards feature hot foiling. Yes... hot foiling! I have been interested in foiling, but never got around to purchasing the supplies to foil using a laminator (which I do have). When I saw the hot foiling system I was very interested in the idea. After watching a few videos I became even more interested when I realized that you can use a lot of cutting dies already in your stash with this system. About a month or so ago I was able to purchase a hot foiling system and when I got the Vintage Flourish cover plate die I knew I wanted to try foiling with it. I ruined several pieces of cardstock before I finally got the two that you see in my blog post. The hardest part was trimming down the foil to prevent overfoiling on the cardstock. I did get a little bit, but was able to remove it with an eraser. After foiling each piece of cardstock I die cut the first one with the largest Stitched Dot rectangle die and the second one with a plain rectangle die. Keeping with the silver theme I die cut vellum using the banner die from the Instant Frame 2.0 die set and then embossed the sentiments with silver embossing powder. I then added silver jingle bells tied with silver embroidery floss. I also added a silver cardstock mat to the second card. The foiling looks so beautiful in real life.

Beautiful design and technique. Love the colors
These are absolutely stunning, Rosemary! Love the silver foiling on navy & both designs using that gorgeous cover plate! Worth your efforts!
Oh, I was right, they ARE elegant! I've always liked navy and silver together. Two beautiful cards!
Would love to hear more details on how to hot foil, how to use existing dies, and the system you used. Beautiful cards.
