Happy Birthday Bloom

Hi there, it's Tracey back today and I created a card for you with colours that I hope brighten your day. This is my first time using the Delightful Daisy Create a Card die. Now that we are starting to see things bloom in our gardens I wanted to NOT make this a traditional white daisy--I have been seeing nothing but white snow for the past 6 months so I thought some colour would was in order!

The main bloom and large centre from the die set was cut with Bristol Smooth cardstock. I blended Dried Marigold and Ripe Persimon Distress Oxide inks on to it leaves focusing the darker orange towards the centre of the flower. It took a bit of blending to but it was worth it. I splattered a bit of water onto the flower and picked it up with paper towel and set it aside to dry.

While it was drying I stamped Happy Birthday from the Delightful Sentiments set on to the flower centre and left it white. The tiny bumble bee from the same stamp set was stamped, fussy cut and coloured with Copic markers. I added that to the sentiment circle.

Rather than use it as a shaped card I decided I wanted to add it to a card panel so a 4 1/4" square card base was formed and I cut a 4" square panel to go on top of the base. I sprayed some gold spray ink on the smaller panel and when it was dry I adhered it to the card base. The flower centre was added to the leaves with foam tape and the entire flower was added to the panel also with foam tape.

The finish it off I add some Nuvo Glitter Drops in Honey Gold

Thanks for stopping in today!
