Happy Wednesday everyone! Rosemary here with one final Easter card made using the Divine Cross Create-a-Card die set and the Divine Easter stamp set. I don't know about you, but my heart is broken over the devastating fire that caused so much damage to the beautiful Notre Dame in Paris, France. I truly hope that they are able to restore it to its former beauty!
I started my card by stamping the Weather Wood background stamp on kraft cardstock with kraft colored ink. I then die cut the piece with the main cross die. I then got to work on creating the Easter Lilies. There are six petals/leaves dies and so I cut each six twice to create the two lilies. I then inked up the end of the petal that would be in the center with Catherine Pooler ink in Grass Skirt and Lemoncello. I then turned the petals over and sprayed them with a light misting of water so that I could shape then. Once the petals were shaped the inked end was slightly pinched so that they could be adhered together. I adhered two petals, let those set and then added the next one. Once that one was set the next was added. That process was followed until all the petals were adhered. After the glue had set on the completed flowers I added the stamens that had also been inked with Lemoncello and Grass Skirt. While the flowers were continuing to dry I finished the rest of the elements of the card. A piece of white cardstock was cut to fit my card base, inked with Ranger Squeezed Lemonade distress oxide ink and then embossed with the tiny dots. I adhered that to the card front and then adhered the cross with foam dimensionals. The shroud was die cut from white cardstock and the crown of thorns from copper metallic cardstock. They were adhered to the cross and then I adhered the flowers. I made the leaves by die cutting the petals/leaves from white cardstock that I inked with Grass Skirt ink and then shaping them like I did with the flowers. They were then adhered around the flowers along with the sentiment that had been embossed on vellum in white. I have included a close up of the flowers. I really love how the flowers and the card turned out.
