Happy Saturday, Fellow Crafters!
Today I’m sharing a simple but fun holiday card that uses
the paper piecing technique. I used the Merry Christmas Stocking Stamp
Set from #AJVD using Distress Oxide Ink in Hickory Smoke. I stamped the
pretty snowflake in a repeated pattern using the same ink on dark grey
cardstock.
In this case, I wanted the attention to go to the cute
stocking from the Christmas
Stocking Stamp Set. So, the paper piecing did just that. I chose a small
remaining piece of paper from my stash and it’s bold and makes a
statement. Super pretty and easy to do.
Next, I colored the bow of the stocking using my Spectrum
Noir markers in 3 shades of CR2, CR5 and CR6 with very little shading. I also
added some faux hand stitched lines around the edges of the grey cardstock with
my gold star dust glitter Sakura pen to add more interest. I finished it
off by adding some little dots in the same glitter pen. I love how this
turned out!
