Good morning and Happy Thanksgiving! I live in Canada, where we celebrated Thanksgiving in October but I wanted to make a card appropriate for the day.
I chose to work with the maple leaf from Grand Leaf Trio. I blended 3 panels with 3 distress inks each (Mustard Seed, Wild Honey, Carved Pumpkin; Fossilized Amber, Peeled Paint, Forest Moss; Wild Honey, Barn Door, Aged Mahogany) and then cut my leaves. To minimize layers, I inlaid them into each other, following tips from my post from last week. I taped them together and then cut the thanks out of the combined piece, and inlaid a gold sparkly thanks.
The leaves are bright and colourful but I really wanted them to pop so I blended some Peacock Feathers distress ink down the centre of another panel, letting it lighten as it got closer to the edges. Then I spritzed it for some interest.
I popped the leaf-piece up with foam tape for dimension.
