a holiday sled...

Happy 1st day of November everyone!!!   The holidays (Thanksgiving and Christmas) are right around the corner!!  Have you been enjoying all the gorgeous projects that the AJVD design team have been making with the beautiful Poinsettia Greetings set???  I know I have and I'm itching to make something with it.  Hopefully next week!  But this week I have a card that I made using the AJVD Antique Sled die.

I actually started this making my little sled a few weeks ago, but because I was still creating fall/Halloween cards I put it aside.  Life has been a little hectic lately and I need to make something fast so I decided to finish up my little sled.  The sled comes with everything you need to create a little swag so I die cut those pieces multiple times and layered them together to create a nice full swag and then added the bow die cut from a deep red cardstock.  The sled was created by die cutting it from some silver cardstock and then from a piece of woodgrain patterned paper.  I trimmed away portions of the woodgrain die cut so that the silver runners and the top piece of the sled would be revealed.  I die cut the Art Deco frame from the same green as the swag and then adhered to off white cardstock I die cut with the largest Rectangle Backdrop die.  I determined the placement of my sled so that I could figure out where to stamp the sentiment from the Christmas Blessings.  My mini MISTI helped me get it nice and straight.  I adhered the sled and then attached everything to a deep red cardstock base.

Have a great day!!
