Good morning! Ardyth here with a masculine autumn-themed card. Many of us struggle to make masculine cards but really they're simple. In fact, I think the simpler, the better! But simple doesn't have to be boring!
Here are some tips:
- Keep lines clean and shapes simple.
- Minimize any kind of embellishment.
- Limit your colour palette (both number and brightness of colours).
I started by adding some graphic interest to my background panel. I cut some 2 inch wide masking tape with the curved Elegant Edges Border die and placed them on some kraft cardstock. I sponged with Pumice Stone Distress ink to get a tone-on-tone look and really let the leaf be the focal point. The shape of my ink blended area adds movement to the card but not a lot of clutter.
My sentiment element is the layering panel in the Minnie Pearl Tag Die set.
Finally, I blended browns, dark reds and orange distress ink on some watercolour cardstock before cutting out my maple leaf from Grand Leaf Trio.
