Good morning! Ardyth here with a card where the focus is all on the background! Did you know that A Jillian Vance Designs has Distress Oxide inks in stock? Below is a step-by-step tutorial for creating this luscious background.
I worked on a craft mat, which is easily wiped up between layers. There's a lot of water involved, so it's important to use watercolor cardstock. It is also important to dry between layers so that the colours don't run together and become muddy.
I think that blending ink onto the cardstock before smooshing over top gave some extra saturation and richness to these colours. Of course at any time, you can go back and give it another layer if you think you need more of one colour. Or spritz it again to create more of that amazing oxidation effect!
Such a pretty background just had to be the focus of this card. But I craved some white space! I trimmed the bottom edge of my panel with a *coming soon* edge die. I decided to inlay my daisy and my sentiment and cut the pieces. The sentiment was inlaid perfectly flat, but I gently rounded the petals of the daisy to create some dimension.

This card is so pretty. Love the distress oxide colors used as well as the daisy die. Your step by step photo tutorial on the making of the card is so helpful.
Stunner of a card!
I am really LOVING the vibrant colors of these Oxide inks and now I see how you achieved it...Spritzing & Layering! And your design is so striking with your lovely white daisy and black inlaid sentiment! Genius to be sure to create white space and add a sparkly gem, too! A really gorgeous card, Ardyth! Thanks so much for the tutorial :)
