A Bright Sunflower for a Summer Day!
Today I am showing you a sunflower...What? A Jillian Vance Design doesn't have a sunflower die? You are correct! This was made using the Poinsettia Die Set!
I was thinking I sure wish Jillian had a sunflower die, then I thought ~ the Poinsettia would work!!!
I cut 3 of the large Poinsettia flowers, layered two of them and separated the petals on the third one to add to the bottom of the flower to fill in the "space". Bent and curled the petals and added two of the middle sized flowers and I am thinking it looks like a Sunflower!
When I was finished, a customer walked into the store and said "Oh I love that Sunflower card!" I said, "YAY, I accomplished my goal!" She said "Well what is is supposed to be?" .... I explained I had used the Poinsettia Die Set to create it. Well you can also layer more and more to suit your style as to how full you want your sunflower. I used the largest center from our Fringe Flower Die Set to finish it off.
Just add a few sprigs of the Bent Branches Die, a couple leaves from the Leaves & Petals Die Set and some Laurel Leaves. I didn't use a sentiment as I felt the Sentimental Script was enough. Makes a great Thinking of You card with a personalized sentiment inside!
I love how Jillian creates her designs to serve more than one purpose. Just like the Laurel Leaves can be used for Pine branches, the Bent Branches Die for make a Christmas wreath or even antlers on an oval for a deer head. She is always trying to find many uses to create value for her customers!

great way to extend the uses for the Poinsettia die! love it!
So fabulous to use the poinsettia to make a sunflower!! Love the bright yellow and how you showed how versatile the dies really are!!
