Hello there, it's Lisa Hoel with a Valentine card to share with you! Valentine's Day will be here before we know it and if you like to give cards to friends and loved ones it's time to get going! ;-) I used the Hoop It Up die set and the Cross Stitch Love stamp set to create this pretty and feminine card.
The background is patterned paper with lace and ribbon from my stash stitched onto it.
I cut the embroidery hoop out of Distress Woodgrain Cardstock that I had colored with Vintage Photo Distress Stain and Ground Espresso Distress ink. It has a really great woodgrain texture – I love this stuff. I stamped and embossed the I Love You cross stitch stamp with Cranberry embossing powder. I wanted the needle to be a different color so I used a very fine detail brush (10/0) and silver acrylic paint to carefully paint over the embossed needle.
I also wanted the embroidery hoop to appear to really have "fabric" in it – like when you use a real one for embroidery – so I wet a square of white cardstock to make it ripple and warp and then glued it (dried of course) under the hoop diecut. I bent the edges a bit more too so it would have some dimension on the card.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!
