Hello A Jillian Vance Design fans!!! Rosemary here on the blog today. Fall is in full swing which means in my neck of the woods rain, rain and more rain, lol!! But that is okay because despite being known as the Evergreen state Washington (where I live) hasn't been so evergreen lately! Even though fall is here I thought it would be nice to share a card in celebration of November 11th which is Veteran's Day here in the US. My card uses the really cool AJVD Simply Said: Old Glory stamp set.
When I saw the Simply Said: Old Glory set I had to get it because I just love the distressed look of the flag, but by the time it arrived at my house the 4th of July was almost here and I didn't have time to make a card using it. I was so bummed! Then I remembered I still had another opportunity to use this special set: Veteran's Day... YAY!! I started by stamping the flag and then die cutting the image with the middle sized Stitched Dot rectangle die. The sentiment (from the AJVD set Heartfelt Thanks) was stamped in blue and the die cut with the second smallest die from the Stitched Dot rectangle. For some additional patriotic flair I die cut a star from red cardstock using both of the stars from the Stitched Dot Stars die set. I slipped one corner of the flag panel into the star and then adhered that to a blue cardstock base. The sentiment panel was then adhered in the opposite corner. A fun patriotic design don't you think? A big thank you to all our veterans for making the commitment to serve and protect our country!! Since this is a thank you card I'm going to add this to the current Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge of thanks/thanksgiving

This is such a wonderful card!
That is one of the best flag stamps I've ever seen & I really love your card, Rosemary! Such a creative way to use the star die cut! Our little town has the biggest Veteran's Day parade west of the Mississippi, if you can believe that!
That flag image is amazing, love it!! I also love the way you tucked your panel into the star die cut!! Fabulous card Rosemary!!
AWESOME patriotic card, Rosemary! Thanks so much for playing Simon Says Stamp Wednesday “Thanks/Thanksgiving” Challenge! Beautiful colors and design. Well done!
Rosemary, this is simply fabulous.
