hello, friend...

Happy Wednesday everyone!!!  Rosemary here to share a card that I made with the new Pretty Posies stamp set and a few other A Jillian Vance Design goodies.
Last week I watched a video on a variation on a spotlight technique.  Bunny (Jillian's mom) happened to see the same technique and mentioned it to me.  I had been thinking it would be a fun one to try and when she said she thought the Pretty Posies stamp set would work perfectly for the technique I had to give it a try.  Basically what you do is stamp a line image (like the ones in Pretty Posies) in black in a pattern that you like and then you color only a portion of the stamped images thus spotlighting the colored portions.  For my card I decided that I wanted the center of the card to be die cut and I also wanted the sentiment to be in the center of the card.  I pulled out a Polka Dot Circle Backdrop die and lightly traced a circle in the center of some Ranger watercolor paper.  I determined the very center and then stamped the sentiment using VersaFine Onyx Black ink.  Once that was done I began stamping the smallest posy and the leaf images from the set using the Onyx Black ink.   After my panel was completed I placed the die back on the panel, die cut out the center and then colored the flowers inside the die cut with some watercolor paints.  The remaining panel was then die cut with the largest die from the Rectangle Backdrop die set.  I adhered the panel to a light grey cardstock base and then adhered the circle using foam dimensionals.  I know what I did sounds complicated, but it was really rather simple and it makes for a very striking card!
