Happy Wednesday A Jillian Vance Design fans!! Rosemary here on the blog today. Here in the USA the 4th of July is this coming Monday and so I have a fun patriotic shaker card I made with some of the new products to be found in the AJVD store.
I am seriously shaker challenged, but I recently purchased some adhesive foam strips are definitely going to make it easier for me to make shakers! I started my card by die cutting a dark red panel of cardstock with the largest Rectangle Backdrop die. I then positioned the largest star from the new Stitched Dot Stars die set on the panel and die cut my opening. I laid the panel on a white card base and stamped the fireworks image from Cross Stitch Freedom in the center using dark blue ink. I stamped the sentiment (also from Cross Stitch Freedom) using VersaMark watermark ink on the panel, applied blue embossing powder and heat set. A piece of clear acetate was cut and adhered behind the opening. Pieces of the foam strips were cut and placed around the star so I could add the red, white and blue sequins for the shaker element. In retrospect I should have cut a piece of white cardstock and stamped the fireworks image on that and then used that to close up the back of my shaker, but I didn't. This created a bit of a problem for me when it came to closing up the back, but I think I got it pretty close to centered, lol!

That is the best shaker Rosi. I love it in the star and with the fireworks in the background.
