Towering Tree Birthday Card with Lisa Hoel

Hello there! It's Lisa Hoel guest posting with a springy birthday card for you. Last November I created a similar card with a fall theme but this has a decidedly different feel:

It just shows how versatile the Towering Tree Die set is. ;-) The leaves on the tree were applied with colored texture paste through a stencil. Did you know you can tint paste to make a custom color? I added about five drops of Peeling Paint Distress Ink re-inker to a blob of texture paste. I added a few pinches of green Perfect Pearls to give it a bit of shimmer too. Mix it around with a palette knife and then apply. Super easy and you can make it whatever color you want!

Thanks for stopping by and happy spring!

a bit of bling...

Happy Wednesday A Jillian Vance Design fans!!  Hope everyone had a wonderful and blessed Easter!!  Rosemary here with a card I made using the Dazzling Diamond and Hoop It Up die sets and the Diamond in the Rough stamp set.

When I set out to make this card I had a different idea in mind, but as I started making the card I decided to change up my idea and create a diamond ring.  The Hoop It Up die set was designed to help you frame up the faux cross-stitch images from the Home Sweet Home and Cross Stitch Love stamp sets.  But it also helps you create a beautiful diamond (or any other jewel for that matter!) ring.  I die cut the diamond from some silver glitter cardstock and then additional diamonds from scrap cardstock and then adhered them all together.  The ring and the prongs for the diamond were die cut from brushed gold cardstock.  A panel was die cut using a Polka Dot Rectangle backdrop die and then stamped with the sentiment using black ink.  I then adhered the ring to the panel, trimmed off the portions that hung over the edge and then adhered the diamond.  For a bit more interest I angled the panel when I adhered it to the card base.  This would be a great design for an engagement card, but since I don't own the AJVD With This Ring stamp set I used it in a bit different way.

Perk Up Stained Glass Card

AJVD, Kecia Waters, Cup of Love, Perk Up, Copic markers, stained glass
Perk Up!  A perfect title for a Monday post, don't you think?  I just had to get in on all of the fun of the newly released "Grandpa's Glass: Cup of Love Die & Perk Up Stamp Set Combo" from AJVD.  Kecia Waters on the blog today sharing a stained glass card I made.

To make this card, I cut both black cardstock and white X-Press It cardstock with the "Cup of Love Die".  On the black cardstock, I punched through all of the pieces, so I would be left with just the black frame and stained glass outline.  I applied adhesive with my Xyron machine and placed onto a white cardstock panel.  I then colored the white X-Press It cardstock pieces with A markers, and pieced together like a puzzle using the black frame.  Once finished, I applied Versamark Watermark ink all over the "finished puzzle" and covered with Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel.  I applied heat with a heat gun.  I repeated two more times with the Versamark and UTEE to get the desired effect.

The sentiment strip is a part of the "Cup of Love Die".  I stamped it with a sentiment from "Perk Up" with Versafine Onyx Black and placed in its place.  This was the final step in the making of this card.

Today, I'm sharing another coffee card with you!

Once again, I'm playing with the new Grandpa's Glass Die! Though, no stencil this time. Just some simple cutting and a little bit of patterned paper.

I started with my die cut piece and then used my scissors to cut off the pieces I didn't want. I did this same process with my patterned paper as well. Once I finished cutting, I then assembled everything together and adhered it on my card. After, I added my sentiment piece, some twine, and some sequins.
Simple and sweet, yeah?!...

you + me...

Hello A Jillian Vance Design fans!!  Rosemary here with a card that I made using the new Grandpa's Glass Cup of Love die and the companion stamp set Simply Said:  Perk Up.  You can buy the die and stamp set together as a bundle or pick them up separately.  As many of you know the Spring Coffee Lover's blog hop has been going on since March 18th.  A Jillian Vance Design is a super sponsor (YAY!!) and that means that if you play along you have a chance to win a $25.00 gift certificate to the A Jillian Vance Design store (double YAY!!).  So, I will be posting this here little card to the Spring Coffee Lover's blog hop line up.  The linkie closes on Friday, March 25th, so there is still lots of time to play along.

I wanted to keep things simple for my card so I started by die cutting the Cup of Love from some white cardstock and then removed all the pieces.  Only a portion of the die was used to cut the heart and the bottom of the tea cup from red cardstock.  A panel of kraft colored patterned paper was die cut using the second largest die from the Polka Dot Rectangle Backdrop die set.  This die creates the perfect mat for the Cup of Love image.  I adhered the die cut to the panel and then added in the red cardstock portions.  The little heart was popped up with a small piece of foam tape.  I stamped the sentiment from Perk Up using black ink.  All of the sentiments in Perk Up fit perfectly in the opening at the bottom of the die... love that!!   A mat was created for the die cut image by die cutting red cardstock using the largest die from the Rectangle Backdrop dies.  A simple, but I think striking looking card!
