Hello there, Lisa Hoel here today with a guest post. I created a fun and whimsical shaker birthday card using the Balloon Trio Die set and fabulously flat AJVD sequins. I'll also share an interesting inking technique! Take a look:

Sentiment inside: …on your birthday. |
I love how cheerful these little balloons are. You can cut the balloons with or without the window depending on if you want to make shakers out of them or not. It is easy to do so. Cut a solid back, a solid one out of thin clear plastic (I used an overhead transparency sheet), and a front balloon with the window cut out. Glue the front piece onto the clear balloon. When it's dry, cut thin strips of adhesive foam and make an enclosed frame between the front and back layers to hold all the sequins. Don't forget to fill your shaker before you stick the back on! ;-)
As for the inking tip, it's an oldie but goodie. Tap multiple colors of Distress Ink over your stamp surface and mist two or three times with water. Then stamp onto watercolor paper and dry it immediately with your heat tool. You get a softly blended watercolor effect. (It looks really nice with floral images!)
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you are inspired to try something new!
