Dimensional Masculine Birthday Card

Hi, Lisa Lara here today sharing how you can make this
Dimensional Masculine Birthday Card
This is a fun dimensional guy card that I made by overlapping these images.
Here is the side view showing that the image panel is like a hollow box.
See, it will lay flat to mail!

My card is also for Virginia's View Challenge #14

And now here's a tutorial!
I created my design first on scrap paper.
On my scrap piece, I made center lines then did the same on my 3 1/4 x 4 1/2" panel so I could then use the score lines as my guide.  Then I stamped my grunge rectangles from Grunge Fun.  I was inspired by THIS card by Susan Raihala.
Next, I masked the sentiment using painters tape (masking tape or washi tape works too).
Here I just want the word "Happy" so I masked off  "Birthday", only inking Happy from the stamp set Happy Birthday.
I removed the tape masked and stamped the "Happy" where I wanted it.
Then I masked off "Happy" to stamp "Birthday".
I removed the tape and stamped "Birthday".
I took a step back and looked at the stamp set and decided to add a smaller font "to you".
I chose a color scheme of three colors and then accented with grays.
And colored it up.
I wanted a wide vellum border behind my image panel.
But I only wanted the tape where the panel would be, so I placed the vellum on top of the image panel as a guide and placed the tape along the panel guide only (not outside the edges of the image panel or you would see the tape).
I adhered the vellum to my black card base.
Next, I am making my own dimensional using paper.
I cut out a piece of cardstock 3 1/4 x 10 and scored at 2 1/4, 2 3/4, 7 1/4 and 7 3/4.  Here you can see it scored and folded.
I placed score tape on the ends and will adhere this side to the back of my image panel,
one side at a time, peeling off one strip of the backing on the tape at a time to better control it when adhering.
Okay, so I adhered the image panel and this is the back that I will adhere to the card.
The reason for this is to have dimension and it will lay flat to mail!
Here I adhered it to the front of the card and you can see it will fold down and mail flat!
