A Thank You Card That Shines!

Happy Fall Everyone!

I'm so pleased to be joining you today and am honored to be invited to do a guest blog post.  My name is Kelly Klapstein, and I live in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada where Fall comes super early...and Winter follows closely behind.  I have been scrapbooking for years and also teach classes locally and nationally.  I am also writing and designing for Canadian Scrapbooker magazine, a wonderful opportunity that allows me to share my passion for paper crafts across Canada.

Here is the card I designed using a wonderful stamp set called AJVD's "Autumn Blessings" and AJVD's "Grandma's Garden Quilt Block" die
When I saw the stamp set, I thought I'd use the 5 different leaves together to make my own patterned cardstock.
So I took a large acrylic block and placed the stamps randomly together.  I decided to throw caution to the wind and stamped with an unusual medium called 3D Stamp Paint, which has a beautiful raised and shimmery effect when dry.
These leaf stamps are so pretty!
Then I cut some gold metal foil with the die:
I was so impressed by the clean cuts of this die and the fine details of the stitching along the edges that came through on the metal!
Like a puzzle, I pieced a number of the 'quilt blocks' together on the brown background layer, along with the frame edges of the blocks.  I used 3D Foam Squares to add dimension.

There were so many lovely sentiments to choose from in this stamp set!  I stamped my sentiment with some Maya Gold "Bronze" Paint.  I know, I'm unconventional.  It's not exact stamping technique, but I'm going for the distressed look!
After adding a feather sticker and some Gold Stickles, I adhered the sentiment to the card.  In real life, there is lots of shimmer!
Now I can't wait to use the rest of the stamp set to design even more gratitude cards!
I hope the Fall season is glorious wherever you live!
Happy Crafting!
