Hello! Rosemary here and yes, I know, August isn't over yet, but my thoughts have started turning toward fall. With that in mind I created this card using the Sweet Sunflower stamp set. The die from the Sweet Sunflower die that cuts out the solid sunflower shape also cuts out the large sunflower in the Sweet Sunflower stamp set so I used that die for my card, as well.
I stamped the sunflower on smooth bristol cardstock with VersaFine CLAIR Acorn ink and watercolored it using my ZIG markers and water. After I finished coloring the image I put it back into my stamping tool and restamped with image so that I would have a nice dark brown outline. I then die cut the image and added little dots of black Novu Crystal Drops to the little dots in the sunflower center. I was struggling a bit with a card idea so I used the sketch from Sunday Stamps for my layout. It is a nice simple layout that lets the big sunflower really shine. I used some of the polka dot paper I love so much (the yellow is almost gone!) along with a strip of dark brown cardstock and some kraft cardstock. The card base and the smaller rectangle are cream cardstock. I stamped the sentiment in watermark ink on vellum and embossed the sentiment in black to tie into the black Nuvo drops. Going to add this to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge.
Thanks for stopping by and have a lovely day!

This is a perfect late summer card! Love the seeds you added too. Very pretty, Rosemary!
I love sunflowers, I have several blooming in my yard right now, hoping the squirrels will leave them alone this year to reap enough seeds for next year. Your card is a lovely take on my sketch with that gorgeous big sunflower, and I'm so glad shared with us at Sunday Stamps!
