Hello and happy July! I hope everyone had a safe and fun filled 4th of July! Rosemary here today and I have a fun beach scene card that I created using the Surf's Up Summer Hootie Add on die set. When I saw that set I immediately knew I had to make a card using the fun palm tree dies!
I started by ink blending a piece of smooth bristol cardstock with Tumbled Glass and Salty Ocean distress oxide inks on the top portion of the panel and Antique Linen distress oxide ink on the bottom. I then die cut the panel with the largest basic rectangle backdrop die. I then die cut the palm tree trunk from a light brown cardstock and added a little bit of Gathered Twigs oxide ink to give it a little bit of shading. The fronds of the palm tree were die cut from a light green and a slightly darker green, adhered together and then I added some Shabby Shutters distress oxide to the piece. I die cut the little sand hill from more smooth bristol and inked it up with the Antique Linen. For the beach ball I die cut one from white cardstock and adhered some tape to the back to keep all the pieces in place. A second ball was die cut from red cardstock, the little pieces removed, inked with some Candied Apple distress oxide ink and adhered to the white ball. To make the coconuts I used the little life preserver die from the set. The center circle was perfect for the coconuts! I inked them with Gathered Twigs, adhered two to the top of the palm and one tucked into the sand hill next to the beach ball. The hill was adhered with thin strips of foam tape. I determined where I wanted to stamp the sentiment, stamped it in VersaFine Clair Nocturne and then added the top of the palm. I adhered the panel to a kraft cardstock base. Love how it turned out! Going to add this to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge.
Thanks for stopping by and have a lovely day!
