Coffee Makes Everything Better

Good morning! It's Ardyth and I'm excited to be back as a guest on the AJVD blog today!

I made a fun coffee-themed card using some old and new goodies.

I started by using the Horiztonal Pinstripes Cover Plate to cut once from kraft carstock and once from white. I coloured the stripes from the white die cut with Copic markers and inlaid them into the kraft outline, along with some stripes I had cut from gold glitter cardstock to create my background.

I cut a coffee cup from the new Cozy Cup Die set and blended pale grey ink along the edges to give the look of dimension.

I cut and coloured the 'coffee' for the inside of the cup and also inlaid some sparkly gold hearts into the cup.

I coloured some white cardstock with brown Copic markers and then used the Headline Type letters to cut out 'COFFEE'. I laid them all down except the O, so that I could let the 'steam' swirl into it.

And here's my favourite part! I cut the steam from vellum that I had backed with double sided tape. This meant that the whole back was coated in adhesive, and therefore looked uniform, rather than trying to put little dots of glue which might have been visible.

I carefully placed the steam down on the coffee and then let it wind up into the O. Once I had the steam in place, I put glue on the back of the O and glued it down as well.

To finish my sentiment I used part of one of the Chocolate sentiments on the narrowest strip from Sentiment Strips 2.0. I popped it up on foam tape underneath the bold coffee letters.

Here's a video:
