Happy Wednesday everyone! Rosemary here today (seriously... I'm here every Wednesday, lol!) with a card I made using the Signature Polka Dot cover plate die and a sentiment from the Eternal Spring stamp set. I also used the Open Daisy and Daisy dies sets. The Daisy die set is currently discounted so this would be a great time to scoop it up!
Have you ever set out to make a card and have pretty much every idea you tried end up in the trash? Well, that happened to me with this card, lol! I originally started out wanting to use the dies that were ultimately used, but then I saw this gorgeous cake on the Sunday Sweets post over at Cake Wrecks and thought I could use it as inspiration for my card. I think I still will try making the card, but during the course of trying out my idea I discovered that at some point I either threw away or seriously misplaced some crafting supplies that I would need! Ugh! So back to the drawing board. Then I thought I would do some foiling with my Glimmer and discovered that while I have lots of foil I have none in the color I wanted to use! Double ugh! Finally I decided to just do some old fashioned embossing! The layout for the card comes from the Paper Players challenge. I used white cardstock and embossed the piece with the Signature Polka Dot. I then carefully lined up the largest Stitched Dot Rectangle die and die cut the piece. Then I moved on to die cutting all the daisies. I used patterned paper with tiny polka dots on it that coordinated so I could layer them. The flower centers were cut from yellow patterned paper. I layered all the flowers and then adhered them to the embossed cardstock. I then added Nuvo Crystal Drops in Morning Dew to the centers of the flowers. I die cut some white cardstock with the 3/4 inch wide Sentiment Strips 2.0 die, stamped the sentiment using Catherine Pooler Rose Petals ink and then trimmed down. When the Crystal Drops were dry I adhered the sentiment strip using a double layer of foam tape.
