Haunted Cozy Cottage

Hey there it's Tracey here today bringing you another take on the newly released stamps and dies at Jillian Vance Design. Is this house too cute to spook? I have been seeing lots of Halloween houses this past few weeks and the new Sweet Gingerbread Add-on die set was just the ticket to make one of my own!

To make my haunted house I die cut the Cozy Cottage Birdhouse with black cardstock. Then I cut the snowy rooftop from the Sweet Gingerbread Add-on die set with some black sparkle cardstock. With the same die set I cut the door in black and the window panes in lime green glitter cardstock.

For the background I cut a piece of Bristol Smooth Cardstock to 5 1/2" X 4 1/4". I used Distress Oxide Inks (More Mustard, Spiced Marmalade and Black Soot) to blend out my spooky October night sky for my Cozy Haunted Cottage! Some watered down white acrylic paint was flicked on the panel. I also blended a half panel of Green cardstock with Mowed Lawn and Black Soot Distress Oxide inks. I cut this panel with the Elegant Stitched Dot Edges to create my grass. After wiping with my embossing buddy I white embossed the Trick or Treat sentiment from the Happy Halloween stamp set. I adhered my background to the card base then assembled all the pieces of the  house together. I stamped the black cat on to the rooftop before adhering the house to the background.

At this point it looked like it needed something else so the cute gingerbread man from the Sweet Gingerbread Add-on die set quickly put his Halloween costume on. His costume was cut freehand from white cardstock. His eye were cut with black sparkle cardstock, I traced over his mouth with a fine tip black marker and lines were drawn on his lips. He was added to the card with foam tape for a bit of dimension.
