Hello everyone! Lisa Hoel here with a trio of spring cards to share. I call these my "waste not, want not (for cards)" cards. Read on to see why!
I was able to utilize the 'scraps' and processes for each card to make the other cards.
First I laid die cuts of the Fringe Flower onto a piece of white cardstock and spritzed the whole thing with a coral colored mist. The die cuts acted as masks and were conveniently colored at the same time (for use on cards #2 and #3!)
Next I diecut the Quatrefoil Cover Plate out of a piece of a heavy manila file folder and laid it on another piece of white cardstock. I sprayed both with Peeled Paint Distress Spray Stain. Because the manila file folder material has a bit of a coating on it, the stain doesn't sink in right away. I immediately lifted up the die cut with the excess stain on it and used it to make a monoprint onto the (dry) cardstock with the flower masking. I was left with a nicely colored Quatrefoil diecut and the paper that was underneath it when I misted it I could use for another card base. How's that for efficiency of time and materials? ;-)
Here's a look at each card:
Thanks for stopping by! I hope you have a great week and a chance to get inky.
