Quick-colour Leafy Sunflower



A few weeks ago, I made a fall wreath using the leaf stamp from Pretty Posies. This week, I made a sunflower!

I started by cutting a circle from a white panel. I stamped the leaf around the circle. Next, I created 2 masks for the leaf an laid them on two side-by-side petals to stamp another petal in between.

To quickly colour all the petals, I simply turned my leaf stamp over and used the back to stamp yellow ink on each petal.

I added some shading with a dark yellow Copic marker, to create some depth and dimension between the layers of petals.

I blended a panel with some distress inks - I always love the contrast of the yellow sunflower and the bright blue 'sky'!

I blended the centre with brown and then filled the shaker with brown sequins. I love the idea that the sequins are the seeds!
