falling for you...

Happy Wednesday!!  I have another fall inspired card to share today.   I used several dies from the Art Deco Frame Backdrop die set, as well as one of the leaves from the Grand Leaf Trio die set.  The sentiment is from the BE-LEAF in Yourself stamp set.

I started out my card by inking up some off white cardstock with Distress Oxide ink in Fired Brick, Spiced Marmalade and Vintage Photo.  I have to admit that I was on the fence at first about the oxide inks, but I bought a few to give them a try.  I love the smoother blending that you get with these inks and so my small collection is slowly getting bigger, lol!  Once I had the color depth I wanted I die cut it with the leaf die.  The frame was created using two dies from the Art Deco Frame Backdrop set and was cut from woodgrain cardstock.  I actually cut two frames to make the frame a bit sturdier.  The Art Deco Frame set comes with this fun little interlocking piece that I have been wanting to use.  I die cut it from dark red and a harvest gold cardstock (two times each and adhered them together).  Once I got all the pieces taken care of I die cut a panel of kraft cardstock with a Stitched Dot Rectangle and got to work arranging all the pieces.  First thing I did was place the frame where I wanted it and then stamped the sentiment.  The accent pieces were adhered and then I added the frame over top along with the leaf.  Finished things off by adhering to a card base and adding the little enamel dots.

Beautiful leaf--perfect blending, Rosemary! I did use a coupon to buy 1 DO ink pad & plan to get another one so I can blend the 2 colors. Those dies are unique & beautiful--really love the look of that frame! Great card!
