Happy Wednesday everyone!! I have a card to share today with absolutely no stamping on it! I love that A Jillian Vance Design has some wonderful word dies that give you the option of making a card without needing to stamp a sentiment. My card today uses the Poinsettia dies, the Thanks word die and a leaf die from the Leaves and Petals die set.
About a month or so ago Bunny mentioned in an email to me that she had discovered that the Poinsettia die set could be used to make a sunflower. The idea to do that had been in the back of my mind ever since then. As I was figuring out what I would make for today's post I remembered that little tidbit and my card was born! I die cut the largest poinsettia three times from a golden yellow cardstock and layered them together. I could have used one of the smaller dies, as well, but that will be for another time! I die cut the center of the flower twice from a dark brown cardstock and then adhered them to the center. The leaves were die cut from a textured green cardstock. I thought some patterned paper in a gingham print was the perfect backdrop. That was die cut with a Stitched Dot Rectangle die. The thanks was die cut from the dark brown and green cardstock and they layered together slightly offset. I adhered the leaves and the flower and then added the thanks. I think the poinsettia dies make beautiful sunflowers and must thank Bunny for the great tip!!
