Happy July everyone! Lisa Hoel here. It's been pretty hot around here – perfect weather for staying inside in the air conditioning and getting inky! ;-) I created a festive birthday card for a friend whose birthday is on the 5th so he gets an Independence Day themed card lol.
The background is inked with Distress Oxide Inks (Salty Ocean, Fired Brick and Candied Apple) and then embossed. I highlighted the embossing with more Candied Apple ink. I used the Stitched Fringe Die to cut layered fringe pieces out of misted coffee filters. I like how they look like tissue paper but are much sturdier than tissue. After cutting the nested oval shapes, I used the Scattered Stars Strip to cut the starry background out of the blue oval. I also misted it with Perfect Pearls to give it some glimmer. Last but not least, I cut the 'Celebrate' out of gold foil paper for more shine.
